Join us in supporting the Indigenous First Steps: Family, Culture, Community (IFS) project, a collaboration between tribal members and early childhood programs in Oregon and Portland State University.
Indigenous First Steps is designed to indigenize early childhood education by promoting culturally specific early learning programs for Native children through a 12-credit online undergraduate/graduate Early Childhood Professional Development Certificate and professional development offerings focused on Indigenous Ways of Knowing. The curriculum integrates Native languages, cultures, histories, and oral stories for recovering and sustaining culture in early childhood programs and classrooms.
Funds can be used for college credit and materials, professional development scholarships, technological needs, or assistance.
